Laura Stevenson - Wheel (2013)

Laura Stevenson is a singer/songwriter from New York.

On this, her third album, she presents a folk rock angle displaying a wide range of different influences. At times, she has the narrative lyrical grace of Laura Marling, and even Joni Mitchell; other times, pop sensibility is contrasted hard with noisy indie rock, reminding me a great deal of the Pixies.

She has a good voice, though the style at times leans a bit towards the pop end of the spectrum for me, there was a lot to keep me interested. Worth the listen; I enjoyed it.
